I haven’t blogged a wedding in… entirely too long! I’m super-excited to be using Fundy Software to bring this blog post to life! If you’re a photo blogger, Fundy makes blog collages crazy-easy and fun to make!
I cried at Stacy & Kevin’s wedding. And it wasn’t because I’m freshly divorced. I cried because their love was so tangible, so present, so expansive, that everyone in attendance could feel it. I felt it in their expressions when they first saw one another in the hallway at Yarborough Mill. I felt it when they shared a cigarette on the back porch and debated leaving early to go catch The Avengers at the local theater. I felt it when they exchanged vows – all theatrical storytelling and elaborate poetry. I felt it when they danced, when they shoved cake in each other’s faces, when they toasted their guests, when they snuggled their dogs at the end of the long, joyful celebration.
If I’ve learned anything these past few months, it’s that love doesn’t have to be “’til death.” Love doesn’t have to be romantic. Love doesn’t have to be expensive. Love is twisty and turny and complex in its myriad crevices and nooks. But if love is real? Even if only for a moment? You cannot help but be moved by it.
