Engaged! Amanda + David

Dear Amanda & David,

I know that you were both convinced that you had totally ruined your engagement photos by being completely ridiculous the whole time; however, we happen to feel like your energy and silliness MADE the photos.  You guys rock.  And you’re hilarious.  YAY!

OXOX

- Dan & Anne

We CAN’T WAIT for August!!!  :D  :D  :D

Married! Amanda + Graham

Amanda and Graham’s wedding day was warm and sunshiney and full of joy in every single way!  The two of them absolutely glowed with love for one another!  We started our day with them at the beautiful Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur…

Graham’s mom helps with his cufflinks…

Amanda gets help with her veil…

My darling Cayla Roberts styled Amanda’s hair, while makeup artist Michelle Crider did her makeup…

The groomsmen… Graham’s dad was his best man.  I love it when guys choose their fathers as their best men!

Graham with his parents and sisters…

The bridesmaids…

I loved the detail on these Jim Hjelm bridesmaid’s dresses!

Amanda with her parents and sister…

Amanda waiting in the Bride’s Room at the church, holding Graham’s ring…

“Head ‘em up, move ‘em out!”  (That might not be what he was saying, but it’s how I imagine it!)

Amanda’s grandmother stops by to say hello before being seated for the ceremony…

Graham… about to walk down the aisle…

Amanda peeks into the sanctuary as the ceremony begins…

After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Dunwoody Country Club for the reception…

Flowers were designed by Pat Holland, and each guest received a classic book at their place setting… a sweet nod to Amanda’s degree in library science!

The cake was created by Gabriel’s Bakery

Guests’ place cards were organized library-style in a card catalog…

I don’t think Amanda and Graham could have stopped smiling even if they wanted to!

First dance…

Graham and his mom…

Toasts…

The rings on a gorgeous old typewriter…

Cake!

Graham’s sister and grandfather…

Last dances…

Let’s see… who’s an Alabama fan…?

Amanda and Graham, we absolutely adore you two!  It was wonderful to spend such a special day with you, and we KNOW you have decades of laughter still ahead of you!  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding!  We can’t wait to share more photos with you!

Published! Rebecca & Will in The Knot

We’re so excited that Rebecca and Will’s wedding has been published in The Knot’s fall/winter 2010 edition for Georgia!  All of this couple’s creativity and hard work certainly paid off, with lots of attention from wedding publications.  They chose The Knot as their ONLY print publication, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result!

Married! Emily + Harrison

Most couples find us, but with Emily and Harrison, *we* found *them*!  Dan found them, to be exact.  He became a fan of Harrison’s incredible replica and prop designs, and insisted that we HAD to be the ones to photograph their wedding!  Thankfully, Emily and Harrison agreed, and we found ourselves with not only some awesome new clients, but some awesome new friends as well!

Emily and Harrison chose one of our favorite venues, King Plow Arts Center, for their wedding, and (as always) Bold American did an amazing job of pulling everything together!

Emily is no stranger to custom clothing, so she commissioned her dress from an Asian-based eBay store!  I don’t think I would have had the nerve to trust a designer across the globe to make a dress from an e-mailed list of measurements, but Emily did, and her dress was INCREDIBLE!

Harrison and the guys getting ready…

Emily polished her nails in record time with absolutely no mess.  I need lessons from this girl.

Harrison and his twin sister killed time by tossing cheese squares into one another’s mouths!

E&H seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day…

Emily let her bridesmaids choose their own black dresses, then added a pop of red with the flowers and red ribbon accents.

Getting married…

One of Harrison’s groomsmen works for CNN, and he created a HILARIOUS video “news” broadcast about Emily and Harrison’s relationship…

Harrison’s dad introduces the newlyweds…

The cake was crafted by Ramona at Perfect Wedding Cake, and Emily herself spent HOURS before the wedding day creating delicate origami flowers for the table centerpieces.

Toasts…

The first dance…

A couple after our own hearts… Emily and Harrison had a Rock Band setup at their reception!

Cutting the cake…

Emily and Harrison’s DJ was completely, fantastically PERFECT.  A real record-spinnin’ DJ, Jesse kept the party going without any cheesy DJ “schtick”!

What’s happening here?  I don’t know.  But it made for a great picture!

Last dance… end of the night…

Emily and Harrison, THANK YOU guys for being so, so, SO cool!  We’re so happy that we’ve gotten to know you two, and we can’t wait to hang out and make more pictures with you!  See you soon!

Tina’s Bridal Portraits

Dan and I have been waiting for YEARS for the chance to photograph a traditional Indian wedding ceremony, so we were absolutely ELATED when Tina and Sumon chose us to be their photographers!  And (believe it or not) I was even more excited when Tina said she wanted to do bridal portraits with me!  Getting to photograph such beautiful, colorful clothing was a dream — and it didn’t hurt that Tina is completely gorgeous and a lot of fun!

Tina knew she wanted to use a field for a few photos, so I scouted the area around Atlanta’s St. Regis hotel for something field-like.  Every good photographer knows that construction sites and abandoned lots make the BEST faux fields — and that’s exactly what I found.  A huge lot that will soon be a shopping center served for our “field”.  Would you have guessed that there was heavy machinery just a short distance from us?

Next we drove over to the St. Regis, where Tina and Sumon will get married next month…

The first outfit is what Tina will wear on Friday evening; on Saturday, the day of the ceremony, she will wear this next outfit.  I LOVE the deep red!

Tina, we can’t wait to see you and Sumon in just a few short weeks!

Married! Julia + Carson

Julia and Carson are such perfect opposites, we really couldn’t imagine a better pair!  Julia is petite; Carson is taller than Dan.  Julia is bubbly and gregarious; Carson is low-key and (in Julia’s words) “brooding”.  Julia is a southern girl with roots in Italy; Carson is Canadian and Polish.  Julia has dark hair and eyes; Carson is blonde and blue-eyed.  But the two of them together make absolute sense, and seeing them tie the knot made May 8th a pretty special day for us!

I started out first thing that morning with Julia, at Salon Carcica in Buckhead…

A beautiful blue sky welcomed guests to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in downtown Atlanta…

The groom-to-be…

A quick peek at the ceremony…

Julia & Carson’s reception was held at one of our favorite Atlanta venues, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.  Award-winning Affairs to Remember catered the scrumptious southern-inspired feast!

The bridesmaids…

The groomsmen…

The newlyweds…

I couldn’t help but dedicate a huge chunk of this blog post to Julia & Carson’s first dances.  This is such a great example of how two photographers will capture the same event with such different perspectives.  Here are some of my favorite shots, beginning with Julia & Carson entering down the grand staircase…

Toasts…

We have so many more photos we can’t wait to share!

Julia & Carson, we are SO happy that we got to share your wedding day with you!  Thank you for allowing us to celebrate with you!
